What a darling use of an old cabinet door! Painted on both sides, you get two for one. The 18 1/2” tall and 12 7/8” wide board has a country scene of a girl and boy with their ducks. It is signed and dated beside the duck on the right – Lee 1985. The reverse side has a painted checkerboard with spruce green checks and blue birds and a heart decorating the top – a design that also adorns the other side. There are also fine scroll designs on each side. Robin Lee, the artist, had her own shop which was full of wonderful primitive pieces and her own hand-painted decorative items. There is some paint loss on the duck nearest the artist signature, but it doesn’t detract from the charm of this piece; there is also rough wood at the bottom where a cross piece used to be when it was serving as a door.
This would be a charming addition to your Americana collection or as a stand-alone decorative piece. Please contact us if you have any questions. Please look at the photos closely, they are part of the description of the item. We will always consider any reasonable offer for our pieces.
