This wonderful old handmade fishing box is a "must" for the fishing collector or just anyone who collects folk/primitive art. Some avid fisherman must have needed a box to keep his live catch in, and, of course, in the days before WalMart, he couldn't run down to the store and buy one; so he made his own. The verdi gris color is coated with a shiny varnish that has protected it from the water for many years of fishing. Even if you're not a fisherman, this item has so much character that you could add it to your décor. It measures 16 ½" tall, 8 ¾" deep, and 13" wide. It has a rustic rope pull on it to put your fish in, and a wooden toggle to close it up. The creel is very substantially made, weighing about 6 lbs.
This would be a great addition to your fishing collection or to use as a folksy decorative piece. Please contact us if you have any questions.
