This cute incense burner depicts a man “on a mission”! He’s walking with his arms swinging, hat on head, and pipe in his mouth. From research, the incense platform is the older design, and this 6 ¾” smoker is probably a Steinbach. There is evidence of a paper sticker on the bottom, which is how older Steinbachs were marked. His paint is still strong on his green pants, brown shoes, and reddish scarf around his neck. He is in excellent condition other than the fact that incense was burned and left a little residue on the metal platform. There is a drilled hole in his left hand, which may be standard for these pieces; there is no evidence of anything ever glued into the hole.
This would be a charming addition to your smoker collection or to add to a grouping of wooden figures. Please contact us if you have any questions.
