In 1965, Mattel created twin siblings for Barbie, Tutti and her twin brother Todd. Tutti and Todd were 6 ½” tall dolls made from a softer material than Barbie and, instead of joints, had wires for bending and posing. With too much play, the wires broke, so Tutti was discontinued in 1971. Todd was re-invented later into a jointed doll, but discontinued in the 1990s. This darling blue leatherette coat was used as a rain slicker, which originally also came with rain boots and a hat. The coat, measuring 3” tall, retains its original Tutti 1965 tag, white trim stitching, and tiny pearl buttons – one button is missing. The coat hangs on a tiny plastic coat hanger. It is in very good 55+-year-old condition.
