These Japanese lusterware tea sets were so popular with children in the early 1950s. They were inexpensive to purchase and weren’t really expected to last into the 21st century, but they were hand painted porcelain and brightly decorated. This set is a nice lustery soft green and orange background with pink and orange flowers and green leaves. The teapot measures 5” from spout to handle and about 3 ½” tall to the top of the lid. The creamer is 3 ¼’ wide and 2” tall; the sugar is 3 1/2” wide handle to handle and 2 ½” tall. These pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks; there is minute paint loss. The lid to the sugar fits very well, but it is a different color. I don’t know if it was never decorated or if it is a replacement, but if so, it fits perfectly.
This would be a darling addition to your toy or doll collection. Please contact us if you have any questions. We will always consider any reasonable offer for our pieces.
