This delightful set of Sir Hugh Casson designed Riviera dishes by Midwinter would make a wonderful luncheon set. The set consists of 13 plates measuring 8 5/8”, 13 breads measuring 6 1/8”, 8 cups and saucers and 5 additional saucers. Midwinter used many of Hugh Casson’s etchings to design these dishes; as you will note, the luncheon plate has a Mediterranean coastal scene with sail boats. The breads have a sidewalk café scene; the saucer has a street scene and the cup has a flower stand. These dishes have the most wonderful feel to them; you can tell that they are of high quality. The set is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, and only slight crazing on a few pieces. They appear to have had very little use.
This would be a lovely addition to your dinner table or vintage collection. Please contact us if you have any questions.
