Johnson Brothers has been producing beautiful tableware since 1883, and their Game Birds series of dishes was no exception. The beautifully colored birds on each piece made for a wonderful table setting. The Game Birds were produced from 1953-76, and the two mugs that we are offering must be from their first year of production, since they are marked patent pending on the bottom. The mugs, decorated with pheasants, have subtle shades of blue-green, cranberry, green and brown. They stand 3 ¼” tall and hold 9 oz. These mugs are in very good condition with no cracks; there is slight age crazing, which is expected for these 60+ year-old mugs. Three of the mugs have one tiny chigger bite each, almost undetectable; the other has a tiny flaw that looks like a chigger bite, but is glazed over; so it happened in the manufacturing process.
These are sold as a set of four.
