This lovely little trinket box shows the artistry of days gone by. Probably early 20th century, the abalone has carved details in the gentleman’s face and clothing, plus the leaves on the trees and other decoration have incised marks to accentuate the detail. This charming little box measures 2 3/8” in diameter and is 1 ¼” tall with the lid on. It is in very good nearly 100-year-old condition with no cracks or chips in the surface nor is there any loss of the inlay. On the inside of the box there are three marks on the bottom, but they may actually be from the manufacture of the piece.
This would be lovely to sit on a table or shelf with other decorative pieces to create a vignette. Please contact us if you have any questions.
