I don’t know exactly what this old wooden box was originally used for, but there is an old sticker on the side with a lot number and piece number on it. Maybe the numbers were to identify old hardware pieces in a bin in a store, or if it’s an old auction tag, but the tag has been there a long time. We thought at first that maybe it came from a greenhouse to start seedlings in, but there aren’t enough water marks nor dirt remnants to indicate that’s what it was. Whatever it was originally used for, it is 20” long, 4 ¾” wide and 2 ½” deep; each compartment measure 2 5/8” x 2”. It would be darling to show off a collection of miniatures, thimbles, or children’s blocks, etc. The box is still very sturdy but does show wear, some stains and one nick in the wood. Even though the wooden dividers are thin wood, they are still intact and in place.
This would be a wonderful addition to primitive collection. Please contact us if you have any questions.
