Published by Platt & Munk, this edition of Robert Louis Stevenson’s A Child’s Garden of Verses was copyrighted in 1961. The collection of verses first appeared in 1885 under the name Penny Whistles. The book is a collection of poetry for children that concerns childhood, illness, play and solitude. The illustrations by Eulalie are wonderful, full of color and expression. The 6 1/8” x 7 ½” book is missing the dust cover and there is minor damage at the top of the spine. The pages are still securely bound. There are no loose pages. At some point in time, this book belonged to Gwen Moore who printed her name inside the cover of the book. The book is in excellent condition. There are no torn or folded pages.
