My dear, talented friend has lost her husband and experienced a health setback, so she has given up her home and moved away to live with her daughter. I have accumulated many of her works of art and am offering these pieces for others to enjoy. We’ve been friends for 40 years, but until she began clearing out all of her art, I never realized just how talented she is.
Diane grew up in a rural setting where bluebonnets (the state flower of Texas) readily grew; so I’m sure she found her inspiration for this painting from her early years. A country road cuts through the country scenery with a cabin on a hill on the left; below the cabin and on both sides of the road bluebonnets and Indian paint brush (the orange flowers) are growing in large masses as they do every spring in many parts of Texas. This well executed painting on canvas board measures 17 ¼” x 4 ¼” and is framed with rustic “found” wood, bringing the overall measurements to 22” x 9”. It is signed in the lower right: Vera Diane ’88.
