Francis 1st is probably the most popular sterling pattern that Reed and Barton has put out in over a hundred years. First introduced in 1907, this ladle bears the mark that was used after 1949: Sterling Reed & Barton. This is an elegant pattern without too much frou-frou. The ladle measures 6 5/8” long and shows some utensil marks and one tiny, tiny dark spot. It is quite substantial, weighing around 3 oz – I don’t have a gram. The lighting in my shop makes the sterling look like it has a gold wash on it in some of the photos, but it doesn't. The piece is sterling only.
