Blenko glass has its roots in America back to 1893 when British born William John Blenko began making stained glass in Kokomo, Indiana. Through many business changes, starts and stops the company continued on into the 21st century. The mark on this wonderful piece of Blenko places it between 1958-61; however the Nile green color was only used in 1959. So this is an extraordinary piece with its soft curves, even though it is very substantial. It is in pristine condition with the glass just as clear as it was when it was made and has no chips, scratches or cracks. It measures 9” long, 6 ½” wide, and 4 ¼” tall. I don’t know if this was intended to be used as decorative art glass or if it is a form of a banana stand, but it is such a lovely piece, it would be wonderful sitting out just to admire.
