Pair of Beautifully Embroidered and Crocheted Pillowcases

Measuring 32” long and 20” wide, these old needlework pillowcases would be lovely to use as shams on an antique bed. The intricate needlework consists of an embroidered floral garland flowing around the embroidered body of a peacock with a showy crocheted tail made from two shades of purple thread and a white thread. The crochet and the floral garland extends across the entire side of the case. They are in wonderful condition with no tears or holes; however, one of the cases does have a stain that went all the way from the back through to the front. The needlework on that particular case is in excellent condition. On the other pillowcase, which is in pristine condition, does have one place where the crochet has come loose on the tail and needs to be sewn back. These have been beautifully laundered and pressed and are ready to use.
