Camillus Cutlery Co. of Camillus, NY, was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States, having been in business since 1876 before filing for bankruptcy in 2007. Over the many years they produced millions of knives, mostly pocket knives, but after World War II and the advent of plastics, they came out with a line of kitchen knives. This deluxe set of six 8 5/8” long knives come in a wooden holder (the box touts it as a hardwood block). The company claims that the knives have a “New Permanized Edge – Super-Hard…Defies Dulling! New Kitchen-Proved Handle – Won’t Break…Won’t Loosen!” It also states that the knives won the “Fashion Academy Gold Medal Award for Distinctive Design…and Definite Style Appeal.” The knives have stainless steel, serrated blades. This set of knives, model no. P-122, not only has its original wood knife rack, but still has its original box, which is a bit worn, but all intact. The knives are in excellent, seldom used condition; the blades show very few use marks. We are also including a mid-century hors d’oeuvres pick or fork. The plastic handle is similar to the knife handle, but it isn’t of the same quality; these pieces have been together for 60 year, so we’re selling them together.
This is a great Mid-Century item to add to your collection or to use every day. Please contact us if you have any questions. We will always consider any reasonable offer for our pieces.
