This sweet little brass 3 ¾” diameter nib or pin dish is decorated with enameled plum blossoms in pinky-white and rust or oxblood flowers set on a black background with very fine metalwork. The bottom is a gorgeous turquoise enamel. There is wear on the inside of the dish; so this piece was actually used. But there is no loss of enamel or wirework. The brass has a few spots of oxidation, and the enameling on extremely close examination has tiny imperfections, but these are from when it was crafted. I don’t think this piece is any newer than late 19th century.
