When I was a little girl, my Raggedy Ann doll was my constant companion and comfort; I think I would have been over the moon if I had had an Andy also! This 1970s pair measures 24 ½” long and have matching outfits – Andy’s shirt is made of the same fabric as Ann’s dress. Each has flaming red yarn for hair and, of course, the red and white striped legs. Their facial features are embroidered onto their faces instead of the older button eyes and painted features. Embroidered on each chest are the endearing words “I love you”. Andy’s shirt is sewn to his solid blue, ¾ length pants which are accented with white buttons and a white collar. Ann’s flowered dress has tiny blue rick-rack around the neck. Over the dress is the expected white apron which is also trimmed with blue rick-rack. She doesn’t have any pantaloons.
Each doll was equally loved, as witnessed by stains that each bears. Andy even has a tiny lipstick stain on his forehead, where he was obviously kissed by his little human companion as she played dress up with him and loved on him. Their bodies and clothes are free of rips or tears with the exception of a small tear on Ann’s left leg and a small one in the back of her apron near the ties.
These are priced as a pair.
