We all probably had great-grandparents who wore spectacles like these. These sweet eyeglasses, made with wire rims, also have celluloid nose pieces, which attest to their age. The celluloid shows very little wear and are securely attached to the frames. The glasses are 4 5/16” wide with what looks like magnifying lenses in them. No makers marks are on the glasses; so I would think the wire is just whatever kind of metal was used by opticians of the day. These spectacles are in very good used, near antique condition. There is a small bit of discoloration on one of the ear pieces, but otherwise excellent condition.
These would be a great addition to a display in a library, office or den. Please contact us if you have any questions.
