What a wonderful find! From the 1920s to early 1930s, this green onyx inkwell desk set has a pen tray and still has the ceramic inkwell under the onyx lid. The lid is securely attached with a brass hinge. There are two bronzed/brass feet to support the front of the piece and a solid onyx piece supporting the back. The onyx is marbled with light and dark greens, white and a splash of brown/rust on the lid; the marbling is wonderful, showing a distinctive grain. The piece is 7 ½” wide, 5 1/8” deep, 1 3/8” tall in the front and 2 1/8” tall to the top of the lid. The overall condition is very good considering the age. There is something stuck on the onyx in the pen tray. There are no chips, cracks, repairs or rough spots.
