Austin, TX, artist Teresa Farr’s art reflects her love of animals. In her early years she produced water colors and pastels, but later focused on serigraphs, hand-printing her art using the traditional silk screen process. This charming screen print, signed and dated 1984, is number seven of a series of 80 that she hand-printed. Entitled “Weight Watcher”, it depicts a scene many of us have suffered through – stepping onto the bathroom scales and not being happy with the results! In this case, however, it is an armadillo (quite ubiquitous in Texas) that is cringing over the dial on the scale. Framed, this piece measures 10 ¼” x 8 ¼”. The print outlined in black measures 6” x 4”. The print is in excellent condition with no foxing or tears. There is a small speck under the glass on the white border. Her pieces are very much in demand and seem to sell quickly. Commercial re-prints of her art are available, but they are not of the quality that her hand-printed pieces are.
This would be a charming addition to your art collection. Please contact us if you have any questions.
