Jean Daum founded his company in 1878 and later his two sons carried on his business to become a major force in the Art Nouveau movement. This wonderful 4 ¼” tall vase is a great example of their work. It features a tranquil lake scene with sailboats and the far shore in the distance across the lake. The vase has soft amber, yellow, dark brown and orange; the scene is all etched with no enameling. The vase is 6 7/8” at its widest and 2” deep. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or flea bites. There are a few rub marks on the piece and wear marks on the bottom.
This piece is one of many in an art glass collection that we have acquired.
