Here is a fabulous vintage jewel that I've been holding onto for a long time; I just love it! Rarely found is this vintage enamel heart pierced with a flaming torch, from the 1930-1940s era. The torch is enameled with brown, white and tan coloring set with white and dual color red rhinestones and it is cracking through the red enamel heart; very dramatic.
It measures approximately 2 1/4" x 1 3/4" and is in good condition with just a few dots of the red enamel missing near the end of the heart and one the upper left side, and some rubbing on the right side of it (please enlarge details) but no missing enamel there. It is made of pot metal and has the separately cast pieces as we know to expect and as evidenced on the reverse with some evidence of age and wear to the metal plate on the back. Regular pin clasp.
It is not signed but all my research leads me to believe it is by Staret; as it is unsigned it possibly could be by a competitor. I've never seen another one like it but it's highly unlikely that it's a 'one of'.
