This is the most gorgeous repousse French theatre paste necklace and it is actually long enough that it could be worn as a belt by some. It has a variety of colorful paste stones claw set with ring links in a gold tone metal.
This belt came to me from a dealer in France and he told be is was a de-access from a French theatre from the late 1800s. It was probably used for Shakespeare as these types of jewels are what were worn by King Henry (but of genuine stones). Theatre jewelry is very collectible and becoming harder to find, especially elaborate pieces like this one.
In very good antique condition without any stones missing, some of the O-rings are replacements. French in origin.
