Here is a very rare panel from my personal collection of a 17th century silk bizarre in a strawberry pattern with lots of silver metallic scrolling design throughout. Originally this was likely part of a ball gown and only the very wealthy would have such extravagant fabric, now we only have this panel of it surrounded by metallic trim.
It is rare and beautiful without a doubt, but it is not perfect; in fair to good condition all the real silver has tarnished on the fabric itself and on the trim used to preserve the panel. There is a split down the center of it likely caused by how it was stored (they should have rolled it but likely just folded it and put it away), there are some holes and small stains to the pink silk on the reverse but not on the bizarre, just on the silk backing.
Despite these flaws, almost impossible to find these beautiful rare fabrics without a thousand plus dollar price tag. Please view all photos for a better idea and if you are not familiar with working with antique textiles, this item is probably not one to start practicing with as it is delicate and quite old.
