More from Tresors-de-Belles
These are from a recent treasure hunt at one of the local antique stores I often visit; they are from the liquidation of a historic house estate and each set I have is truly gorgeous! When I saw them they reminded me of San Simenon so of course I had to have them!
They have never been used, just tucked away for decades so the colors are great. They have a silk shimmer to them but I think they are sateen cotton. This set of hand towels measure 34 1/2" x 19"; there is a matching set of smaller towels that I am listing separately with the same design. One of these towels has a little 'hard' spot (see last photos) can't really be seen, just felt but I'm sure it can come out with a hand spot cleaning.
They do each feature the same monogram in the center, which looks like two Asian style H's (to me; maybe that's why they reminded me of the Hearst Castle!). Anyway, the creases are just from being folded and packed away but they would smooth out with a quick press. They are clean but were not laundered.
I don't know who made them as they are untagged, circa 1930s.
