Another sweet French Bebe pin from the earliest 1900s, this one is especially cute with a little baby on the top of the word BEBE in ribbon. He is the cutest little cherub, holding onto little floral branches as he sits on top of the word with the tiniest of detailing on his face, smiling!
It measures about 1 1/8" x under 1/2" and is good condition without any cracks or breaks, the pin back is slightly loosen as we would expect from a genuine antique but fastens and holds well without any issue. You see it modeled in the last few photos on one of my 14" bebes, so you get an of how it would look on one of your girls, from the smaller ones to the bigger bebe.
This is an early pressed silver metal pin. It arrived to me from a very nice dealer just north of France, and he confirmed it was silver per his testing. I could not find a content stamp on it, I assume it to be European silver at 800 grade, but it might be 925.
The pin was black when it arrived to me! So, I have gently used a gem polishing cloth and it has allowed all the patina to stay in just the right places but cleaned up enough so we can see the details. It is quite dark on the reverse as you see because I did not polish that out.
Likely French in origin, circa late 1800s, possibly early 1900.
