A rare and early gorgeous brooch by Rousselet, sapphire blue elongated poured glass beads with with 4 rows of tiny faux glass pearls and a center sapphire blue glass to the center, all hand wired into a honeycomb metal backing.
I could not find a stamp, which is many times the case in his earlier jewelry, but the honeycomb metal backing is obviously Rousselet that we see in his early work. A lovely and rare example of vintage French poured glass haute couture jewelry, it measures 1 3/4" across.
The brooch is in very good vintage condition, all the original beads without chips or breaks, a few of the tiny pearls show some wear only found when inspected with a loop. The only thing worth a mention is the typical trombone clasp to the reserve is missing the push-in clip, but it still holds under the long c part of the clasp so it is wearable. Could use a light cleaning if desired.
French in origin, circa 1920-1930.
