Lovely bright regal foil metallic colors, exquisitely and expertly painted in enamels, you see the photos taken with and without the flash.
Made in France in about 1900, in very good antique condition without any cracks, breaks or repairs, the painting itself measures about 3" x 4", set onto red velvet and then put into this more contemporary wooden frame.
Cute scene of a bar winch holding a jug of wine being "man handled". Portrait details of this painting are just fabulous as well as the amazing metallic colors! The painting is expertly rendered, just look at the fabulous expression of the laughing and perhaps intoxicated bar maid being pulled playfully toward her smiling customer! She is exposing just enough of her decolletage for the painting to be considered a "naughty" but not quite an erotic work.
Does not have a ring for hanging, therefore, I will include an easel with it for display, which is how I have had it in my home for decades. One can only truly appreciate the craftsmanship when viewing the painting up close. The colors are unbelievable and I've received so many compliments on it's loveliness.
Circa 1900, French in origin.
