Divine set of silver spoons made in France, these ornately designed spoons have a little angel's face at the top of each spoon with scrolls and flowers abounding his cute little face!
The spoons are made of silver and hallmarked on the spoon itself, which has a gold wash on it. On one side the initials SK and on the other side the boars head. It is typical of French marked silver for the stamps to be apart from each other, and the marks are very small and located on the front of the spoon where it meets the stem.
Hard to find, the cartouche under the cherub's face has not been engraved. In very good antique condition, some of the gold wash is worn off a bit and the silver has a bit of patina. I have never used them or washed them and have had them in my treasure stashed away for years waiting for the perfect opportunity to use them, but never did.
They measure approximately 4 3/4" in length and 3/4" across the spoon. There is a set of six. Still in their original ecru silk lined box, which measures 7" x 6" x 1". I purchased them from a dealer in Greece years ago and she bought them from a Frenchman. I would date them to about 1900-1920.
