An early unsigned brooch by Countess CIS with the gold plated 'tenticle' arms that she was known for using in her earliest jewels and I've never seen any other jewelers that did anything like it. Set with tiny clawed down bright white rhinestones, the kind she used, with a center row of three French barrel ascher cut faux rubies. All the stones are original, the dress clip measures almost 3" by 1 1/8" at the widest point near the end.
The gold plate is very good on the 'arms' but the clip does show wear on the French clip. I have done a lot of research on it, even though it is unsigned I'm positive it's by CIS (I've had a few of her signed pieces before). Her pieces are becoming rarer to acquire, not only because of they are well made and high quality but because she didn't make that many. I had this jewel sent to me from France, it is circa 1950 - 1960.
