Here is a fabulous box bag from the 1960s made by Enid Collins of Texas. These purses were very popular (and expensive) in the 1960s and in the early 1970s she sold off the company and they have been out of business for decades.
I love all the whimsical themes that she did, starting with her early purses and jewelry made out of paper mache, and then these the ones made of wood with applied plastic jewels. I collected them for a long time when I was a younger woman but I thought I had sold them all off until I found this one in the back of a closet!
It is in very good vintage condition with minimal wear, one jewel is replaced as you see and I penned my name in ink on the bottom right inside, it's hard to see and I'm sure it could be sanded off if it's bothersome. I never ever thought I would sell them, but as we get older our tastes change, lol.
