Here is a beautiful, gold filled, circa 1910 medal or charm marked ‘Fix’, a mark founded in 1823 with a secret formula for this type of 18 carat thickly gold filled jewellery. This is a souvenir of a First Communion.
The medal is straight sided with a pretty embellishment at the top. The ring at the top is beautifully moulded into the medal and there is a bail for a chain.
The subject is the Last Supper. Here is Jesus with a young person administering the bread and wine. At the base in Latin is ‘Panis Vitae’ – Bread of Life.
On the reverse is the Holy Chalice emerging from clouds and radiating light Just beneath the clouds is a maker’s mark and then at bottom right ‘Fix’ in an oval.
This delightful piece which carries so much significance is in excellent vintage condition and the gold really glows. It will arrive in a gift box.
