This lovely silver gilt small crucifix is French and from the Art Nouveau period.
It is 1½” (3.8cms) long and 7/8” (2.2cms) wide. Of hollow construction, it weighs 1 gram.
The front of the crucifix is delicately sculpted with the corpus separately applied. The ends of the arms are ornamented with flowing leaves and berries. The back is similarly ornamented with a roundel in the centre.
The ring at the top bears the boar’s head hallmark for 800-900 quality silver. There is a bail to hold a chain.
This wonderful crucifix has slight signs of age as you would expect of a piece dating to circa 1900. It would look lovely on a chain or maybe attached to your bracelet. It will arrive in a gift box.
