This delightful antique charm is made of 835 quality silver and is therefore German or Austrian in origin. The subject is St George slaying the dragon. I am dating this piece to circa 1900- 1910.
The oval charm measures 7/8” (2.2cms) long, including the ring, by 9/16” (1.4cms) across. It weighs 2.3grams.
The pierced charm is small but action packed. St George is thrusting his lance at the devil beneath his rearing horse. The border is finished with a milled pattern.
At the top is a ring and a bail. The back is smooth silver and marked ‘835’.
This lovely and unusual charm has slight signs of age but generally is in fine condition. It will arrive in a gift box.
