This beautiful, gold washed French rosary is composed of mother of pearl and hallmarked 800-900 silver. It dates to circa 1910.
The rosary measures 20.5” (53cms) around and the drop is 4 and 7/8” (12.5cms), The individual beads are approximately 4 and 5mms wide. It weighs 16.5 grams.
The beads are wonderfully lustrous and shiny mother of pearl. They are connected by lengths of gold washed silver links.
The centre is a lovely medal of Mary, 10mms across. On the back is a spray of lilies with a space for small engraving. It bears the boar’s head French hallmark for 800-900 silver quality.
The drop finishes with a lovely crucifix. It is delicately engraved and adorned with the dove of the Holy Spirit at the top. Then on either side are the heads of Jesus and Mary. The base bears the head of an angel. The separately applied corpus is very finely engraved.
There is a boar’s head on the top ring. The back is blank.
This truly lovely, rosary is in excellent antique condition and it will arrive in a gift box.
