This beautiful, French silver and ruby glass rosary dates to the late Victorian period. It bears the boar’s head hallmark for 800-900 silver quality.
The rosary measures 28½" (71.5cms) around with a drop of 6" (15cms), including the crucifix. It weighs 42.1 grams.
The rosary has delicate, ruby glass beads, faceted to catch the light. They measure 6mms wide and the single beads have decorative silver caps. They are connected by small lengths of silver chain. At the centre is a lovely Marial symbol.
The drop is composed of silver chain and more glass beads. It is finished with a crucifix 1 and 7/16” (3.5cms) long. The crucifix is delicately shaped with fleur de lis on the arm ends. The corpus is separately applied. The reverse is smoothly finished and there is a boar’s head below the top ring.
This most beautiful rosary with most lovely beads is in excellent antique condition. It will arrive in a gift box.
