This beautiful, French mother of pearl rosary dates to the Art Deco period. Only the crucifix tests as silver. The medallion is silver plated and the chain is metal.
The rosary measures 19½" (50 cms) around with a further drop of 5¼" (13.5cms), including the cross.
The rosary has lustrous mother of pearl beads about 5mms across. They are connected by small lengths of metal chain.
At the top of the drop is a fine , geometric medal. The front is enamelled in pale blue enhanced by dark blue at the top. The image of Our Lady is really exquisite.
At the end of the drop is the silver crucifix ,also enamelled in pale blue with fine line detailing. It is 1½" (3.8cms) long. It has the remnants of an original gold wash and undistinguishable hallmarks on the ring.
This very lovely and unusual rosary does show some signs of age but quite amazingly all the enamel is intact. It will arrive in a gift box.
