This superb Victorian Celtic cross is made of sterling silver with Scottish agates. It bears no hallmarks but tests as sterling silver. It is rare for Scottish items of this era to be hallmarked.
The cross measures 2 ¼ “ (5.7cms) long, including the ring, by 1 and 1/16” (2.9cms) across. It weighs 8.3 grams.
This is a very elegant , celtic cross, widening out towards the base. It is decorated with lovely agate slivers in earthy tones, including red jasper. Thee centre is mounted with bloodstone carved to a pyramid shape. The silver surround is delicately engraved.
There is a ring and a diamond shaped faceted bail at the top. The reverse is plain, shiny silver.
This superb cross pendant is in excellent antique condition. It will arrive in a gift box.
