This very pretty French pin carries the boar’s head French hallmark for 800-900 silver quality. I am dating it to circa 1900-1910.
The pin measures 1½” (3.9cms) wide by ½” (1,2cms). It weighs 1.6 grams.
This delicate, repoussé lily of the valley pin has the sinuous leaves of the Art Nouveau movement, It is pierced to accentuate the little bell flowers , finely engraved to twinkle in the light. One leaf is overlaid with rose gold and bears an engraving of the Virgin Mary.
The reverse caries an old style c clip and pin. The clip is marked with the boar’s head.
In fine antique condition, this sweet pin would make a charming gift. It will arrive in a gift box.
