This lovely, French religious pendant or charm has painted figures of Jesus and two saints. It is hallmarked for 800-900 silver and dates to circa 1880-1900.
It measures 7/8” (2.3cms), including the top ring, by 11/16” (1.8cms) and it weighs 2.2 grams.
On one side is painted image of Jesus revealing his Scared Heart . On the other are two saints – one a priest and the other a woman, both are holding the martyr’s palms. I believe that they have been painted of mother of pearl and they are glassed over.
The edge is embellished with some lovely corded loops. At the top is a ring carrying the boar’s head French hallmark and a bail for a chain.
This very rare piece is generally in good condition for its age. There is a small scratched area on the saint’s side. It will arrive in a gift box.
