This very pretty , Art Nouveau, silver cross charm is French. It bears a crab hallmark for 800-900 silver quality. It is also a Stanhope with tiny and rather faint views of Our Lady in the grotto at Lourdes, France.
It measures 1¼” (3.3cms) long, including the ring, by 5/8” (1.7cms) across. It weighs 1.4 grams.
The hollow cross is delicately sculpted on each side. It is embellished with a lily which swirls down onto a base of ivy leaves for remembrance. The viewing hole is in the centre of the lily . It moves between both sides. The design is the same on each side.
At the top is a ring with the crab mark and a bail.
This very rare piece is in fine antique condition and will arrive in a gift box.
