This very attractive French silver medal is inscribed with the date 1906. This is a First Communion medal and shows a scene from the Last Supper.
The medal measures 1” (2.5cms) each way and it weighs 8.5 grams so is very substantial.
It has a pretty, scalloped border adorned with love knots and roses at the base. The raised image is of Jesus with the beloved disciple, John . Jesus holds the chalice.
The top ring bears the boar’s head French This hallmark for 800-900 quality silver. A bail is attached for a chain.
On the smooth silver back is a monogram and the date ’14 Juin 1906’.
This very rare and most beautiful medal is in excellent antique condition with a lovely patina. It will arrive in a gift box.
