This beautiful French silver and crystal glass rosary dates to circa 1900. It bears a French boar’s head hallmarks for 800-900 quality silver on the crucifix. The other elements are also silver.
The rosary measures 28" (72cms) around with a further drop of 6¼" (16.5cms), including the cross. It weighs 25.9 grams.
The rosary has delicate, clear crystal glass beads, faceted to catch the light. They measure 7mms wide. They are connected by small lengths of silver chain. At the centre is a really delicate silver Marial medal which is an `M ‘for Mary.
The drop is composed of silver chain and more glass beads. It is finished with a crucifix 1 ½” (3.8cms) long. This exquisite, Art Nouveau crucifix is finely ornamented on the arm ends. The corpus is delicately sculpted. The reverse is also beautifully decorated and you will find a very clear boar’s head under the top ring.
This most lovely rosary is in excellent antique condition.It will arrive in a gift box.
