I believe that this outstandingly beautiful, silver, pectoral crucifix dates to the time of Napoleon 111 of France.
It measures 2 and 3/16” (5.5cms), including the top ring, by 1 and 3/8” (3.5cms). It weighs 7.7 grams.
The crucifix has lovely, fleur de lis arm ends. The centre is delicately embellished with a lovely design. The separately applied corpus is exquisitely sculpted with all the details very clear.
At the top is a ring which carries what looks like the crab mark for 800-900 silver. There is a bail attached for a chain. The reverse is plain, smooth silver.
This wonderful crucifix is in excellent antique condition with an attractive, fine patina on the silver. It will arrive carefully presented in a gift box.
