This lovely antique cross bears full English, sterling silver hallmarks for the year 1910.It is accompanied by a newer sterling silver chain.
The chain is 19” (48cms) long and closes with a ring clasp. It closes with a ring clasp and an adjacent tag is marked ‘925’ for sterling silver. Together with the cross it weighs 6.5 grams.
The cross measures 1 and 3/8” (3.5cms) by 13/16” (2cms).
The front is delicately engraved with a flower and ivy leaves for remembrance.
At the top is a ring and a bail.
The plain back is inscribed with the maker’s mark ‘H.W Ltd’ for Henry Williamson ltd. There follow the English hallmarks – the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, the lion passant for sterling silver and finally the date letter ‘l’ for 1910.
In fine antique condition this beautiful cross and chain will arrive in a gift box.
