This lovely antique cross bears full English, sterling silver hallmarks for the year 1901 and was presented in 1902.
It measures 1 and 13/16” (4.5cms), including the top ring, by 1 and 1/8” (2.8cms). It is 2mms thick and weighs 3.2 grams.
The front is delicately engraved with an abstract pattern.
At the top is a ring and a bail.
The plain back is inscribed ‘March 7th 1902 . Beneath this is the maker’s mark ‘H.W Ltd’ for Henry Williamson ltd. There follow the English hallmarks – the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, the lion passant for sterling silver and finally the date letter ‘b’ for 1901.
In fine antique condition with the smallest signs of age, this beautiful cross will arrive in a gift box.
