This very unusual rosary is French. It is composed of variegated, glass beads with a brass medallion and crucifix. This rosary dates to the Victorian period.
The rosary measures 20" (50 cms) around with a further drop of 5½” (14.5cms), including the cross. It weighs 13.5 grams.
The rosary has faceted purple and white beads about 4mms wide, They are connected by small lengths of brass chain. At the top of the drop is a finely engraved marial motif.
At the end of the drop is the crucifix. It is 1¼” (3.1cms) long. In the gothic style, each arm is ornamented with a fleur de lis.
The head of the corpus is worn but this is not noticeable with the naked eye. Otherwise the condition of this rosary is very good with some signs of age around the crucifix. It will arrive in a gift box.
