NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN, RECTANGULAR CUT, BEAUTIFUL SOLID PIECE OF VINTAGE TURQUOISE STONE WITH LIGHT BROWN NATURAL MATRIX SWIRLING AROUND THE EDGES, HAVING A PATENTED SLIDING MECHANISM, MARKED STERLING SAW TOOTHED CUT BEZEL WITH A LARGER STERLING BACKING FEATURING ROLLED EDGES AND MATCHING DETAILING AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM. The braided brown leather is in good vintage condition, showing very light wear. The tips of the leather end in a very pointed pair of hand made 2 1/4" sterling tips with the ending points passing through a sterling bead and project at the very end. Both the tips and beads have very light engraving. All sterling is naturally patinaed and match in age and are original to the piece. The slide works perfectly for neck adjustment. The back is marked "sterling" and signed "Bear". I am assuming the piece is Navajo.
This is a beautiful, quietly elegant, very clean lined piece and is finely scaled where it could be worn by a man or a woman.
