TWO WONDERFUL NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN REFERENCE BOOKS, the first is "Kiowa Voices, Volume II, Myths, Legends and Folktales". This is a large hardback with original dust cover, marked "1st print, 1983" by Maurice Boyd. The book features 304 pages of individual Kiowa tribal members retelling their myths, legends and folktales, plus 295 illustrations consisting of historical photographs, artifacts, artwork, sketches and illustrations. The copy of the table of contents (4 pages) gives you an idea of the depth of this subject matter and the research the authors have assembled. Book is in excellent, lightly used condition, no markings or highlighting, dust cover has slight fading and a few tears, but is not taped together and is strong. Spine is strong, no loose pages.

The second book is "Song From The Earth", Copyright 1976, First Edition, by Jamake Highwater. This is also a hardback, is missing the dust cover, but has a beautiful illustration of Crumbo's elegant horse on the front. This is a smaller book, offering 200 pages with almost every page having an illustration of a famous Native American artist's art. There are also historical photographs and a sprinkling of artifacts. This book is a must for an art lover, some of the Native artists shown are: Crumbo, Mopope, Martinez, Kabotie, Buffalo Meat, Blackowl, Rance Hood, Scholder, Tiger, Doc Tate, Beaver, Blackbear Bosin, Tahoma and the list contiues. Wonderful for study and pure enjoyment of art viewing!
The book is in lightly used, good condition, no markings, doodlings, or highlighting. Spine is strong, no loose pages.
