Hand made, signed and painted Native American Indian, Cochiti Pueblo Mother storyteller doll made by Edwin Herrera. The Herrera family is one of the best known Cochiti clay working families and are famous for their storyteller figures. Edwin was born in 1966 and learned how to work with clay from his famous mother Mary Francis Herrera. This piece was made with traditional hand dug clay and paints. He worked hard with his art and was successful. Many of his pieces were sold at the famous Santa Fe Indian Market to collectors and galleries. This piece has 7 babies eagerly climbing over each other to gain the best position to hear their mother tell them stories of long ago. If you don't own a storyteller, you will be amazed at how they make you smile each time you see her!

CONDITION: Good, no breaks, chips or repairs. There are a few minor rubs but overall she is good. Please look closely at the photographs, you may see something I missed.

CIRCA: 1980's, collected at a long time collector's estate sale in Oklahoma City.

Thank you for your interest! We will package her carefully!
